KIS events
Over the decades, the Society has become well known for its vibrant social and cultural events.
Alongside its flagship annual event, the St Patrick’s Ball, the Kenya Irish Society hosts a wide range of activities throughout the year. These include pub quizzes, movie nights, and informal social gatherings, creating relaxed opportunities for members to meet, reconnect, and enjoy Irish company in Kenya.
Through a varied annual calendar, the Society brings people together to build friendships and to celebrate Irish culture, heritage, and community in an inclusive and welcoming way.
St Patrick’s Day, celebrated each March, is Ireland’s national day and a global celebration of Irish identity, culture, and community. It commemorates St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, and has grown beyond its religious origins into a vibrant expression of Irish heritage, marked by music, storytelling, dance, and the wearing of green.
For the Irish diaspora and friends of Ireland around the world, the day offers an opportunity to honour shared roots, strengthen community ties, and celebrate the values of hospitality, resilience, and connection at the heart of Irish culture. For the Kenya Irish Society, it is a special moment each year to come together in friendship, celebrate Irish culture in Kenya, and share that spirit with the wider community.
